Are you a fan of ghost stories? If so, you’re in for a treat with Helen Mirren’s latest film. Winchester: The House That Ghosts Built is a spine-tingling spook-fest that’s inspired by true events!
The action centres around the most haunted house in the world, which is set on an isolated stretch of land outside of San Francisco. It was built by Helen Mirren’s character Sarah Winchester, who is an heiress to a great fortune. Sarah is obsessed with improving the house, constantly building it up and adding rooms until it stands a whopping seven stories tall. But it turns out this is no show home, it’s actually being designed as a giant prison for hundreds of vengeful ghosts, who all have a score to settle with her family…
Also starring Jason Clarie and Sarah Snook, it’s directed by Michael Spierig and Peter Spierig.
