Cliff Parisi might currently be starring in Call the Midwife as Fred Buckle – a role he's starred in since 2012, however, before that he was most famous for his role in BBC soap, Eastenders in the role of Minty Peterson.

If you watched Eastenders back in the early 2000's then you'll no doubt recognise Cliff from his role as the lovable Minty Peterson. Originally scripted as a guest character on the soap, his contract was extended and Cliff ended up playing Minty for eight years between 2002 and 2010.
His character was actually called Rick Peterson, but after gaining a reputation of always turning up late for work, he got himself the nickname Minty in reference to the popular chocolate, After Eight.
After nearly a decade of failed relationships and even time in prison, Minty's time came to an end after the show got a new executive producer which saw quite a few of the cast members leave. Cliff has also been very open about the fact he won't be returning to the Square telling The Mirror in an interview; "I don't wanna slag it off because it's been brilliant to me. I think the best writers and some of the best actors I've ever worked with are in that show, and it was really brilliant whilst I was there.”

Cliff has been a regular cast member in Call the Midwife since the very beginning in his role as Fred Buckle. Fred is the handyman around Nonnatus House and it's his job to make sure the building is maintained. He's tried his fair share of get-rich-quick schemes but none of them ever seem to work out for him.
Fred is also a very family orientated and is a dedicated dad to his two daughters, Dolly and Marlene who he had with his first wife Betty who sadly passed away during the war. Not only is Fred now a grandad, he also remarried Violet, played by Annabelle Apsion.
In series 6, his cousin passes away, leaving behind her son, Reggie, played by Daniel Laurie who has Down Syndrome who both Fred and Violet both grow to love as their own.
