High street optician Vision Express is offering free eye tests worth £25. The deal is running in conjunction with National Eye Health Week (September 18-24), which aims to raise the importance of eye health and the need for regular sight tests.
To get your free half-hour eye test, book online via this link and Vision Express will email you a voucher to use at any of its stores. You must download your voucher by September 30 2017 but can use it until October 31 2017.
There are over two million people in the UK living with sight loss, which has a significant impact on their daily lives. And it’s predicted that by 2030 that number will be over 2.7 million.
Why should I have an eye test?
An eye test is about much more than assessing whether you need glasses or contact lenses. It’s also an appraisal of your eye health, and can detect a number of common eye conditions which, if found early enough, can be treated successfully.
Routine eye tests can also bring to light other underlying health conditions, such as high blood pressure, high cholesterol and diabetes. Optometrists can even detect the early signs of a potential stroke.
That’s why tests are so important and why people of all ages, even young children, should have their eyes checked regularly, at least once every two years.
