Royal couple Meghan and Harry recently announced that they would be breaking traditions at their wedding with their main wedding cake being a delicious lemon and elderflower cake, rather that the traditional fruit cake.
Their lemon and elderflower cake is being made by London-based bakery, Violet Bakery and is estimated to be costing £50,000! And if you're wondering what the royal wedding cake will taste like, Iceland have created an affordable royal wedding cake we can enjoy for £8 - that's just 66p per slice!
Iceland’s two tiered, three layered, light lemon sponge is filled with elderflower buttercream, Sicilian lemon curd and delicately finished with shimmered chocolate peals – just as the Royal couple has requested for their own dessert.
Neil Nugent, Head Chef at Iceland, said: “We want our customers to enjoy the Royal wedding celebrations in style and what better way to do that than raising a glass of champagne to the newlyweds and having a slice of their actual wedding cake – well, kind of.
There will be a limited amount of cakes available in Iceland stores across the country from May 14th for one week only, so if you're hoping to try a slice, you better be quick!
