When is GBBO this year?
The new series of The Great British Bake Off kickstarted on September 26 and will continue every Tuesday on Channel 4 at 8pm for the next 10 weeks.
What are the GBBO challenges?
Each episode, the bakers will be put through their paces with a Signature Bake, Technical Bake, and Showstopper Bake - no pressure!
The Signature is where the bakers get to show off their creative flair and personality with tried-and-tested homemade bakes that match the theme of the week.
The Technical is a challenge in which the bakers are surprised with a basic recipe, each with the same ingredients and instructions, and are asked to make it to their best abilities. For many, that's easier said than done!
The Showstopper is the final challenge in which the bakers are encouraged to show off their skills and talents by baking a tasty, impressive and elaborate creation that hopefully is a crumb above the rest.
