Testing the Cosori Dual Air Fryer
I have three teenagers, one of whom is a vegetarian. I’ve had a single drawer air fryer for a long time but rarely use it as it’s not big enough, and I can’t use it to cook meat and veggies at the same time.
I can’t tell you how much a dual air fryer has changed my life! I often make kebabs, as pictured, and now I can cook my daughter’s veggie ones in a separate drawer. They don’t need to cook for as long, but the sync function means our meat ones can still be ready at the same time as hers.
My previous air fryer didn’t have a pre-heat function. This one does, and actually I was surprised that it really makes a difference. It’s worth doing, although it does take a time to get to temperature. However, it does then give a really nice crisp finish to things like crispy chilli beef, which my boys love.
It’s also handy for quick freezer meals such as chicken nuggets and chips, which my youngest son devours on a regular basis. The air fryer is simple to use, and he can prepare that himself using both drawers.
The Cosori Dual Air Fryer was easy to set up and very easy to get to grips with. The touch screen display has everything clearly labelled so it's easy to work out which side you're programming, and if you want to use them both on the same setting you just press the sync cook button. Similarly, if you want them to finish at the same time, program both sides individually then press sync finish.
I like the light – again, another feature that I didn’t realise would be so handy, but when preparing salad to go with kebabs, for example, it’s handy to be able to flick the light on and see how the food is coming along.
I’ve used the air fry and grill functions a lot – Naan breads or flatbreads are great in it. I’ve not used the roast function as it’s not big enough to roast the size of joint or chicken I need to feed my hungry boys! But I can see it would be useful.
I’ve not used the dry function either, though I’ve heard you can use it to dry orange slices etc for Christmas wreaths so we may well give it a go!
Final thoughts on the Cosori Dual Air Fryer
Overall, we love this air fryer, but I do have a couple of bug bears. One is that it’s huge. I don’t really know a solution to this, as it’s obviously quite a large capacity, but it takes up a lot of space on my side and gets in the way. The plug cord isn’t very long either, so I can’t have it where it would be most convenient as then it wouldn’t plug in. I stored my old one in a cupboard but couldn’t do that with the Cosori as even if I had the space, it’s too heavy to keep lifting in and out.
My other bug bear is I wish it came with silicone baskets as standard. I don’t have a dishwasher, and cleaning the drawers every time is annoying as they’re cumbersome. It would be good to have a basket you could pop things like nuggets in, then just lift the basket out to wash. However, these can be bought seperately as can many other useful air fryer accessories.
However, all of that said, it has really been a godsend over the summer months when I’ve not wanted the oven on. It’s also meant my son can be much more self-sufficient in the kitchen and I find having two drawers a total game-changer.
I also really appreciate the money-saving aspect of using an air fryer compared with an oven. Energy bills keep rising, and it’s reassuring to know that the Cosori Dual Air fryer uses up to 75% less energy than a traditional oven. Over time that really makes a difference.
