If your hair is looking thinner, floppy or flatter than usual, don't panic! There's plenty of things you can do to promote growth and revive your lacklustre locks.

If your hair is suffering and in need of a bit of TLC, we've found the best products on the market, plus some hair care tips that actually work.

Top tips for thicker hair

1) Invest in a good hairbrush - look out for one that is designed for fragile hair. Avoid brushing your hair when it's wet, instead give it a good brush before you get in the shower to remove the worst tangles.

2) Avoid direct heat on hair – always use a protecting spray or serum when blowdrying or styling.

3) Wash your hair less – yes really, it's recommended to wash your hair 2-3 times a week at most. Washing your hair too much dries it out.

4) Scalp massage – as when promoting faster hair growth, these exercises stimulate the follicle that helps hair to grow and increase the circulation around the scalp.

5) Avoid tight up-dos – if you tend to put your hair up a lot, try looser styles over using tight hair bands and pulling at the follicles of your hair.

From hair thickening masks to oils and vitamins, here's our pick of the best products on the market...
