Sue Perkins is a very talented lady. Not only is she an actress, broadcaster, comedian, presenter and writer. She's also proved herself as a singer too!

Sue Perkins revealed as the new host of Radio 4's Just a Minute

Following the very sad passing of Nicolas Parsons back in January 2020, the popular, long-running Radio 4 show, Just a Minute has seen a series of rotating presenters come and go to fill in for Parsons.

However, it has now been announced that presenter Sue Perkins will take on the permanent role of presenting the show full-time when the show heads into its 87th series.

If you're not familiar with the show, it's a quiz where panelists have to speak about a single subject for 60 seconds without hesitation.

Previous guests on the show include Jo Brand, Gyles Brandreth, Paul Merton, Stephen Fry, Nish Kumar, Lucy Porter, Tom Allen and Jenny Eclair.

Tweeting about the exciting news, Sue said; 'Sad I'll no longer be able to play my favourite game, but both delighted and honoured to be the new host of it. #justaminute'

The next series of the show begins September 6, 2021 on Radio 4 and BBC Sounds.

Sue Perkins partner

Sue famously dated TV presenter Anna Richardson for six years before ending their relationship in 2021. It's reported that the pair had a disagreement over adoption, with a source close to the couple claiming that Sue wanted to spend more time focussing on work commitments while Anna hoped to adopt soon.

Although Sue is now single, the break up was apparently amicable and the pair remain friends.

Did you know that Sue can sing?

Fans were shocked when Sue was revealed as the Dragon on The Masked Singer in 2021. She admitted she was very shy when it came to singing but the disguise allowed her to show off her singing skills with confidence and what a voice she has!

Sue's battle with her brain tumour

In 2015, Sue found out she had been living with a brain tumour for the past eight years. The tumour had a devastating impact on Sue's life, not only leaving her unable to have children, but also led to a very dark period.

Luckily, her tumour was benign, but as she recalled on Desert Island Discs, ‘I literally destroyed my life from the inside out,’ and it wasn't until her father passed away that Sue felt the need to seek help.
