Getting a headache or migraine can really impact your day and most of us will do anything we can to get rid of it. But did you know that drinking certain teas - alongside other pain treatment methods - can help provide relief when you're really suffering?

To help you get rid of that nasty headache, we've rounded up the top teas to try, so grab your teapot and get brewing!

Chamomile tea

This herbal tea helps to reduce anxiety and stress while reducing inflammation which can cause headache pain.

Peppermint tea

Not only a refreshing beverage, peppermint tea is also said to be good for treating tension-type headaches.

Turmeric tea

Although it might not be to everyone's taste, curcumin, an active ingredient in turmeric and is believed to help to mitigate migraine and headache pain.

Ginger tea

If you're feeling nausea, as can so happen with migraines, try sipping some ginger tea when your headache first starts to soothe the pain and reduce the sickness.

Lavender tea

A great one to drink before you go to bed, lavender is a herb that has been used in many herbal medicine remedies assisting the treatment of anxiety and headaches.

Should I steer clear of caffeine?

Although many people and even studies find that caffeine can actually help to ease headaches, caffeine can also cause headaches or make them worse which is why we'd recommend opting for teas that do not have caffeine in, just in case.
