Three of the nation’s favourite soaps are struggling because of the bad weather. The ‘beast from the East’ is causing problems for Coronation Street because of continuity concerns. The soap opera is currently filming scenes that are meant to be set in April and May – and obviously a snowy backdrop will somewhat shatter the illusion!

Cath Tyledesley, who plays Eva Price, wrote on Twitter: ‘When you’re scheduled to do exterior shots all day…and in your scripts it’s April/May!’

Meanwhile both Emmerdale and Eastenders have had to cancel filming because of the dreadful weather. Emmerdale had to cancel some filming on Thursday – much to the horror of Samantha Giles (who plays Bernice Blackstock) who had struggled to the set through terrible traffic!

Eastenders have cancelled filming today because of the snow, saying that the roads around Elstree Studio aren’t  safe. It’s only the second time in the show’s 33-year history that bad weather has stopped work – and apparently the production, set and design crew all went to the pub to raise a glass to the beast from the East!
