We love Claire Foy as a young Queen Elizabeth, but after two seasons of playing Her Royal Majesty, the time has come for Claire to step down in her role as the Queen in Netflix drama, The Crown.
The second series, which is available to stream on Netflix Dec 8th 2017, will end in 1963. The actress who plays the queen will be replaced every two seasons in order to age with the character. Claire Foy will be replaced by Broadchurch actress Olivia Colman, 43.
The Bafta winning actress is set to star in the role for the next two seasons, seeing the queen through the decades. It has not yet been confirmed who will be replacing him, but there will also a new Prince Phillip who was previously played by Matt Smith.
In the meantime, here's the trailer for series 2, which airs in December and follows the Queen from 1956 for an eight year period.
