Mary Poppins returns

Mary Poppins returns

Mary Poppins was released back in 1964 and remains one of our favourite films of all time. It has been enjoyed by generation after generation and continues to be popular, which is why we're delighted to hear about the sequel that is set to be in cinemas Christmas 2018.

The sequel will see Mary Poppins visit Jane and Micheal who are now all grown-up with children of their own. Micheal, who still lives in the house on Cherry Tree Lane, suffers a personal loss which is when we see Mary return to the household.

We loved Julie Andrews as Mary Poppins in the original film but we think actress Emily Blunt will make a great Mary Poppins. You may recognise Emily from films such as The Devil Wears Prada and The Young Victoria. The role of Micheal will be played by Ben Whishaw who is actually the voice of Paddington Bear and Q in the recent James Bond films.

They will be starring alongside some more famous faces you may recognise. The one and only Meryl Streep will be playing Mary's cousin Topsy, Angela Lansbury will be playing the Balloon lady, Colin Firth will be playing William Weatherall Wilkins and Dick Van Dyke will be returning to play Mr Dawes Jr!
