Testing the CLOUD NINE Air Shot Pro

I have long, thick hair, so getting it dry after a wash can feel like a chore. I usually leave it to air-dry just to avoid the frizz and damage that comes with most heat styling. But with all the buzz around the CLOUD NINE Airshot Pro, I thought I’d give it a go and see if it lived up to the hype.

Before drying, I applied a heat protectant spray (as I always do when using any hot tools - the CLOUD NINE Magical Quick Dry Potion to be exact) just to give my hair that extra layer of defence. But honestly? The Airshot Pro feltso gentle that I almost didn’t worry. Even on the higher heat setting, it didn’t feel like it was scorching my strands, and I could tell the tech inside was doing its job to keep my hair smooth and healthy-looking.

From the first use, I could tell this wasn’t your average hairdryer. It’s lightweight but powerful and it managed to cut my drying time nearly in half. The best part? My hair felt soft, smooth and frizz-free without that usual straw-like texture I sometimes get after using other dryers.

Commercial Content Writer Piper Huxley also put the CLOUD NINE Airshot Pro to the test, and she was seriously impressed, calling it "one of the best hair dryers for curly hair".

“Well, I am very impressed with this smart model,” she said during her review. “The CLOUD NINE Airshot Pro is the fastest dryer I've tested, with three temperature levels to suit my curly hair's tendency to frizz and dry out under higher heats.”

She praised the Airshot Pro not just for its speed, but also for its ability to maintain hair health - something that’s often hard to find in powerful dryers. If you’ve got curls that need a careful balance of heat and control, this one’s definitely worth considering.

The CLOUD NINE Airshot Pro is noticeably lighter than the original Airshot, weighing just 0.44kg - about half the weight of its predecessor. It also includes some upgraded features, like a self-cleaning mode and a quieter motor for a more advanced, user-friendly experience.

Features of CLOUD NINE The Airshot Pro

Variable temperature control – With the press of a button, I found it easy to tap between them, which made it super convenient to switch from high heat for fast drying to a gentler setting around my roots or ends. It gave me more control over how much heat I was using - perfect for days when my hair felt a bit more fragile or frizz-prone.

Professional quiet motor – Professional-grade airflow that cuts drying time significantly. I was genuinely surprised by how quiet this dryer is, especially given how strong the airflow is. It’s not silent, of course, but compared to other professional dryers I’ve tried, it’s much less harsh on the ears. I could still hear music or a podcast in the background, which made the whole drying process feel a bit more relaxing.

Anti-static technology – Helps tame frizz and boost shine. I noticed that my hair. I noticed that my hair looked noticeably smoother after using the Airshot Pro, especially around the roots where I usually get flyaways. It didn’t have that fluffy, static-y look I sometimes get with other dryers, and the shine was a nice bonus - it almost looked like I’d used a smoothing serum, even though I hadn’t.

Cool shot button – To set your style and reduce flyaways. This feature is such a nice finishing touch - literally. After using the heat settings, the cool shot feels really refreshing on the scalp and helps lock in my style without adding any extra frizz. It also smooths everything down so I don’t have to reach for a straightener or extra styling products afterward.

Self-cleaning – The Airshot Pro has a built-in self-cleaning feature that helps keep your dryer running smoothly over time. I found this extremely helpful for keeping the dryer fresh and ready to use.

Final verdict

For me, the Cloud Nine Airshot Pro is a top-tier hair dryer that truly delivers salon-quality results while still being gentle on my hair. I love how lightweight and quiet it is, as it makes styling more comfortable and less tiring. The mineral-infused heating element noticeably helps keep my hair smooth and shiny, and the self-cleaning feature gives me confidence in its long-term durability.

That said, the matte black finish does show fingerprints and product smudges pretty easily, so I find myself wiping it down more often than I’d like.

Still, if you care about hair health, want styling versatility, and appreciate a lightweight design, I’d say the Airshot Pro is definitely worth the investment - just be ready for a bit of extra upkeep to keep it looking as sleek as it performs.
