If you’re looking for something good to watch to get you in the mood for summer, BBC One’s Two Weeks in August might be one to add to your list - a holiday reunion that doesn’t quite go to plan.

Here's everything you need to know about the new drama.

What is Two Weeks in August about?

The series follows a group of old university friends who reunite for a long-awaited summer holiday on a sun-soaked Greek island.

What begins as the perfect escape - sunshine, cocktails and time together in a luxury villa - slowly starts to shift as reality kicks in.

The friends are now at very different stages of life, and as marriage, children and personal struggles come into focus, old dynamics begin to resurface in unexpected ways.

Its star, Jessica Raine, sums it up simply: “It’s a group holiday gone wrong.”

Damien Molony (The Split, Bergerac) plays her husband Dan, whose mental health struggles begin to affect their relationship during the trip. “I didn’t know it was a comedy at first,” he said. “It felt quite tragic.”
