Despite their divorce in 1996, it's understood that Sarah Ferguson, Duchess of York and her ex-husband, Prince Andrew remain close friends. So close in fact that the pair still share a home together. Despite her main residence remaining The Royal Lodge in Windsor, it's reported that now, Sarah Ferguson has a new home.

The mum of Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie is said to have purchased a second home for herself away from her home with Andrew. The multi-million pound property was reportedly purchased by Sarah in June 2022. It's located in Mayfair, London and according to Land Registry, the property was purchased without a mortgage.

This sparked a lot of conversations around how Sarah could afford the property after she found herself in a lot of debt in 2009. According to reports, Sarah is not allowed to sell the property without written consent from her daughters, suggesting that it was perhaps them who helped her afford it. Other reports suggest this was purchased as a long-term investment for her daughters.

Inside Fergie's home

Although we don't have any photos of Sarah's new home, photos sourced by the Daily Mail reveal some of the details of the decor inside her new home.

Throughout the house, the walls are painted in different colours and the main living area there is some interesting art hung up on the walls, with a painting of an elephant on one wall. There's also a rather large bookcase, mirrors and grand light fixtures in the room.

As it's an old, Georgian style home, there are fireplaces in most rooms, plenty of houseplants and flowers and a range of art pieces.

Fergie has also previously shared a glimpse into her home at Royal Lodge in her YouTube series where she reads to young children.

Here she is in what looks to be the dining room where there's plenty of light and windows.

Where does Sarah Ferguson live?

It is reported that Sarah still lives with Andrew at The Royal Lodge but in an interview with the Telegraph, she made it very clear that she didn't class this as her home.

"When I’m in the UK I’m lucky enough to stay at Royal Lodge. I wouldn’t call it my home as that would be presumptuous."

Despite this, it was Royal Lodge where she returned to recover following her breast cancer surgery.

Now she's a grandmother to her daughters children, it's understood she wants to make sure she is close to them as they grow up.
