If you can't get enough of Slow Horses, you'll be just as excited as us to hear that a new series called Down Cemetery Road is coming to Apple TV+ soon! No, it's not the next season of the show, but it is based on a debut book written by the same author, Mick Herron.
Promising to be just as "funny and acerbic" as his other writing, it sounds as if the new drama will be just what we need to watch in between visits to Slough House, especially as there's a Dame and Golden Globe winner in the cast!

Apple TV has unveiled some striking first-look images featuring Emma Thompson (Sense and Sensibility, Love Actually, Nanny McPhee) as Zoë Boehm, a private investigator who's struggling with the past, and Ruth Wilson (The Affair, Luther, Mrs Wilson) as Sarah Tucker, a woman who becomes obsessed with the whereabouts of a neighbour's child that she believes has gone missing.
Is Down Cemetery Road based on a book?
Yes, it's one of Mick Herron's books; he's the author of the Slow Horses series and has several standalone stories too.

What's Down Cemetery Road about?
"When a house explodes in a quiet Oxford suburb and a girl disappears in the aftermath, neighbour Sarah Tucker becomes obsessed with finding her and enlists the help of private investigator Zoë Boehm," the synopsis for the crime drama reads.
"Zoë and Sarah suddenly find themselves in a complex conspiracy that reveals that people long believed dead are still among the living, while the living are fast joining the dead."

And Down Cemetery definitely carries that aesthetic on."

Where is Down Cemetery Road filmed?
The series was mainly filmed across Bristol and Somerset, with some scenic boat scenes shot in the charming Cornish village of Polperro.
In Somerset, standout locations included Bishops Lydeard Station and the Wessex Hotel in Street, while Bristol provided iconic backdrops like St Nicholas Market, Corn Street, City Hall and the University of Bristol campus.
Behind the scenes, the production went by the working title Larkin, a nod to Philip Larkin’s poem Toads Revisited, which is briefly referenced in the novel and features the line “Help me down Cemetery Road” - a subtle inspiration for the show’s final title.
