British journalist and newsreader Charlene White is a well-known face on our TV screens, presenting both Loose Women and the ITV news. She's also recently joined the line-up for I'm a Celebrity 2022 where we'll get to watch her take part in trials and adjust to jungle living.

If you're interested in learning more about Charlene, here's everything you need to know...

How old is Charlene White?

Born on 22 June 1980, Charlene is currently 42.

Charlene White's career

Charlene first joined ITV in 2008 where she worked as a newscaster for ITV news at 5.30pm. She has held several roles at the channel since, appearing on ITV Lunchtime, Evening and Weekend News and even went on to make history when she became the first black woman to present ITV News at Ten in 2014.

In 2019, Charlee was announced as the lead presenter of ITV News London's main 6pm programme. Two years later, she joined Loose Women as a regular presenter following Andrea McLean's departure from the show. She's also been a part of the Celebrity Gogglebox cast with her friend Judi Love.

Who is Charlene White's partner?

Although she likes to keep her love life private, Charlene has been in a long-term relationship with her partner Andy for several years and they live together in South London with their two children. The couple met at a friend's party back in 2015 and Charlene once wrote in the Guardian: "I knew from the moment I met him at a friend’s party the year before, that he was 'the one'."

Charlene and Andy have two children together, Alfie, five and Florence, three. While Charlene likes to share photos of her children on social media, she is careful to keep their faces hidden.

While away from her family, the Loose Women panellist is expecting that she will fall into the role of mum of the camp on I'm a Celebrity and will take great pride in trying to find out more about her fellow campmates. "I can be sat with someone at dinner who I don’t know and I love to find out lots about them," she adds. "There is nothing wrong with getting to know people. I love to listen and I like consoling people."

Charlene White I'm a Celebrity

Talking about her decision to join the ITV show, Charlene said: "There aren’t that many opportunities to have when you get older and it will be nice to see if I can do this. I’ve given birth to two kids in quick succession, survived that and lived to tell the tale! So, I feel it’s now right to take on another big challenge."

For Charlene, I'm a Celeb is a chance to share the real her with viewers. "When you work in news, people assume you are one person. I love music, dancing, clubbing and a good box of greasy chicken and chips! I want people to see that I am just a regular girl from South London who reads the news."

“It’s going to be very strange not being able to find out what is happening in the world," the presenter added. "The UK is on a constant cycle of change and by the time I have come out of the camp, we could have had another change of Government or another change of leader!"

Charlene admitted being away from her family would be tough. "I am going to miss our daily routine with the kids, I am going to miss waking up with them and having quiet time before the school run and that’s what is going to get me tearing up. It will be weird."

While Charlene isn't expecting to win the competition, she's hoping she'll get stay in the competition until the end: "I would love to be in the final three so I can be alongside whoever is crowned King or Queen. For me, that is the win."
