BAFTA-nominated actress Nicola Walker is set to return to screens in an exciting new role, starring opposite Flight of the Conchords star Jemaine Clement in the upcoming Disney+ comedy Alice and Steve.
Promising a sharp, offbeat tone, the series will follow the unlikely friendship and chaotic misadventures of its titular characters, showcasing a lighter and more playful side of Nicola's remarkable range. This marks a fresh venture into comedy for the TV star, who became a household name through her acclaimed lead performances in hit dramas such as The Split, Last Tango in Halifax and Unforgotten.

What is Alice and Steve about?
Set in motion by a personal betrayal with big consequences, Alice and Steve centres on lifelong best friends Alice (Walker) and Steve (Clement), whose world implodes when middle-aged Steve begins dating Alice’s 26-year-old daughter, Izzy, played by Yali Topol Margalith.
While the duo are "no strangers to chaos and dubious decision-making", their once rock-solid friendship is pushed to the brink, threatening their families, futures, and everything in between.
Alice and Steve is being produced by the team behind the breakout Netflix series Baby Reindeer. While plot details remain under wraps, filming was scheduled to begin in May 2025. Lee Mason, Executive Director of Scripted at Disney+, has teased that the series will be “masterfully brought to life by British acting legend Nicola Walker, as you’ve never seen her before.”
