Strictly Come Dancing professional, Kevin Clifton has hinted that he’s desperate for Great British Bake Off 2015 champion Nadiya Husssain to be his partner in next years contest after she praised him and his partner Stacey Dooley on Twitter.
Nadiya praised the pair after someone on Twitter asked her who her favourite couple was in this years competition. Kevin’s had some fantastic partners over the years but we’d love to see Nadiya on the dance floor and so would her fans by the looks of it!
It seems unlikely that Nadiya will join Strictly in 2019 however as it’s been rumoured she has turned it down before and though she watches it with her family every year and is a huge fan of the show, she worries that being a part of it may ruin the magic for her.
Speaking to Heart radio, she said:
"I love Strictly, as soon as the summer is over that's my thing, I watch Strictly with my husband and my little girl. Imagine being a part of that. If I was a part of it I wouldn't be able to sit on the couch with my husband and my daughter and be a part of that and I couldn't take that away because it's our thing."
Kevin and Karen Clifton both return to Strictly despite their split
Relationships are always forming on Strictly between the professionals and the celebrity dancers, but for dancing duo and married couple Karen and Kevin Clifton, their love story seemed to come to an end back in March when they announced the sad news that they would be splitting up after three years of marriage.
However, despite their split, the former couple, who have appeared on Strictly Come Dancing five times between them, will be returning for the next series of the show when it begins in autumn. Sources believe this could bring the couple back together and help rekindle their romance.
An insider told The Mirror Online: "They'll both be back. If they got back together during the months the show was on, it could be a reverse curse.
"We're all suckers for a bit of romance and these two are hugely popular members of the 'Strictly' family.
"Fans don't want to see either of them leave. Just imagine if they rekindled their love on the show. How fabulous would that be?"
Karen recently admitted she has not given up on her marriage, and that there is still a chance they will reconcile in the future. They claim they have been too "focused" on their own forthcoming dance tour to discuss the finer details about officially calling time on their marriage, and Karen is still quite happy to wear her ring.
She said: "It's important to be open to all possibilities. I haven't given up on it. I saw my parents break up and I didn't like it.
"I think the best thing for now is to behave like adults and take a break.
"He can go his way, take care of what needs to be taken care of, and I'll do the same.
"You never know what'll happen; maybe even in a couple of years... It's just that right now this is what we need."
And the former couple recently claimed they "haven't really talked about" getting divorced, despite their split.
Kevin said: "We haven't really talked about that to be honest, so I don't know.
"We're just fully focusing on the tour, really."
