It's hard to know what you would do if a love one needed CPR. But it turns out Yours favourite Phillip Schofield saved his own dads life when he was just 22 after his father suffered a heart attack.
During an interview on This Morning with a hero firefighter on Monday, Phillip revealed all about his ordeal with his dad whilst viewers were taught how to perform CPR and the importance of knowing how to save someone's life. “I’ve done it myself, I brought my dad back,” he said on the daytime show.
“He had a heart attack and died in front of us on the carpet and I hadn’t trained at all.
“It was just what I had seen on the telly and he had another 25 years. Nothing else feels better.”
Back in 2012 in an interview with The Mirror newspaper. Phillip opened up about the incident. “Dad went into the kitchen and got a glass of water. He sat down, put the glass down and went bang,” he said.
“Just like that. Dropped dead in his chair. At 49. I laid him on the floor and everything went into tunnel vision…
“I was completely calm…
“I put my hand on his chest and started really thumping…
“And then he just made this noise. And I could sense that he’d come back.
“I kept him alive until the ambulance men arrived.”
