"If you choose to stay at home, you will save lives."

That's the powerful message from doctors and nurses at the Belfast Trust respiratory team who have created a video that's been widely shared on social media.

Nurses, consultants, physiotherapists and other staff from the respiratory team, who are currently at the frontline of the coronavirus pandemic, sacrificed their rare time off on Sunday to make the video that makes an impassioned plea: "please stay at home".

The video was released as the number of UK deaths reached 281, including a person aged 18 with an underlying health condition. It also comes after a weekend where large numbers of people were seen ignoring government advice around keeping a safe distance from others.

In the moving video, staff start by explaining that we are in the "greatest medical crisis of our lifetime" and that we only have "one chance" to get this right.

They go on to add that "we all have a choice, if you choose to stay at home, you will save lives."

They add that that doctors and nurses are the people we need most during this crisis. But without everyone playing their part in staying at home and following government advice, these lifesaving medical staff could be in danger of losing their lives, too.

So far the video has generated an incredible response with people giving their thanks to the NHS staff who continue to make a difference in these unprecedented times as well as sharing their prayers and good wishes to keep frontline NHS staff safe and well.
