In a bid to help those who are self-isolating as a result of the current situation surrounding coronavirus (COVID-19), a woman in Cornwall has created a printable postcard to spread kindness within the community.

During these uncertain times, Becky Wass posted on Facebook:

“I’ve been feeling pretty helpless watching the news. Maybe you have too? I wanted to do something about it, so I’ve made a postcard that I’ll be posting to my older neighbours as this progresses (after washing my hands!).

“If just one person feels less lonely or isolated when faced with this pandemic, then I’ll feel better about it (I hope!)

“Coronavirus is scary. Let’s make kindness go viral.

“Feel free to share/print/use. X

Printable pdf: bit.ly/viralkindness #viralkindness.”

The printable postcard allows people to fill in their details and pop it through their neighbours letterboxes. With a tick box option, Becky has encouraged people to tick whether they are able to pick up someone’s shopping, post mail, get urgent supplies or simply be a friendly voice on the other end of the phone.

Along with offering neighbourly assistance to those in need, the postcard states that if items are delivered, they are to be left on the doorstep, to reduce contact and the spread of coronavirus.

As we already know there are still many hurdles ahead and with more and more people self-isolating (particularly those over 70 years old) these templates offer a glimmer of hope that communities will rise up from the current situation and help each other along.

So if you can, we urge you to download the coronavirus postcard here, fill it out and post it through to those who you think are in need.
