Now more than ever, it's important for us all to do our bit to help the planet and try to be more eco-friendly in our everyday lives. Along with swapping out ourcleaning products and making better clothing choices, many of us have been making changes in our personal hygiene routines as well, signing up for refillable deodorant subscription brands such as Fussy deodorant. As well as giving you the lowdown on the brand, we'll be sharing real Fussy deodorant reviews to help you decide whether you too should make the switch.

Fussy overview

Fussy is a natural deodorant brand that is on a mission to 'banish single-use plastic from your bathroom.' Initially launched as a Kickstarter campaign, Fussy grew in popularity following an appearance on Dragons' Den with Sara Davies and the gang. Co-founders Matt Kennedy and Eddie Fisher walked out with investments from both Deborah Meaden and Peter Jones.

Fussy key features

Environmentally friendly: Their main selling point, Fussy is incredibly eco-friendly. The case is made from waste material, is 100 per cent recyclable and 100 per cent compostable. As for the deodorant itself, it's completely natural, 100 per cent vegan and free from aluminium and parabens.

Delivery: Ordered online, Fussy will be delivered straight to your front door.

Long-lasting protection: The brand claim that its science-based formula will give you 24-hour protection from body odour.

How does it work?

It's actually incredibly simple. To start with, you choose your refillable case out of five different colours. Then you need to pick your plan. The most popular is the Subscribe & Save where you get one case and one refill for £15. Fussy will then send three refills once every three months for £15.

Then it's time for the fun part - to choose your scent. There are six to decide between plus an unscented option. Scents include citrus, flora, wood and tropical. The scents can be changed when you want and you skip or delay upcoming orders should wish.

If you don’t want to commit to a subscription, try the one-time purchase pack which includes a case and two refills of your choice for £20.

How long will Fussy last?

Each refill will last 4-8 weeks depending on use.

The difference between antiperspirant and natural deodorant

While both want to keep you smelling fresh, antiperspirant does this by using aluminium to block your sweat pores whereas natural deodorants like Fussy get rid of the smell by using a mixture of effective ingredients that work together to absorb moisture and neutralise odour.

Swapping to a natural deodorant

Here's what Fussy say: "If you’ve been using conventional deodorant or antiperspirants for years, it can take 2-4 weeks for your body to adjust to a new natural deodorant. During this period, your body will be excreting the aluminium and other substances that have built up in your pores. You may experience itchy armpits, extra sweating or even B.O. But don’t worry! It’s normal and natural and if you push through it, fresh-smelling pits await you!"
