Ironing doesn’t have to be a time-consuming household job with the Vileda Total Reflect Ironing Board. Its innovative metalized foil layer, under the cotton top layer, reflects 100 per cent of steam and heat back into your laundry, saving time spent ironing when you could be doing something you enjoy.

The foil layer also helps to prevent water condensation on the board and floor, which in turn helps to prevent any rusting. In addition, a thick foam layer gives a smooth ironing surface and avoids any unsightly indentations on your clothing. For peace of mind, a Kid Safe pull and lift lever is integrated on the underside of the board to prevent accidental closure and allows for safe storage.

How did this product make your life easier?

I'm going to hold my hands up here and admit that I'm not the biggest fan of ironing. In fact, I avoid it as much as possible. Of course, the most frustrating thing about ironing is lifting up a garment after giving it a once-over and finding there are still creases to straighten out.

The Vileda Total Reflect Ironing Board has found a clever way around this problem. The foil layer reflects steam and heat, making the ironing board do some of the work as well. So, your clothes are effectively being ironed on both sides at the same time. I can honestly say using this ironing board has cut down on the time it takes to iron.

Although, it's not made me an ironing fanatic!

I like that there are little holes on one end so you can hang hangers. Plus, the ironing board goes to a good height, too. Our previous ironing board was just a little bit too low to feel comfortable using. It can also be used at a range of heights and feels very secure when folded out. The ironing board itself is a good size. So, there's plenty of room to rest a pile of laundry at one end whilst you work at the other.

What changes would you make to this product?

Due to the Kid Safe pull and lift lever it was a bit tricky to fold away at first - you have to lift it up a little before you can fold it down, and when you have finished with it you need to remember to pop the leg into the clip to store it away so it doesn't start opening up by itself. But that's just a matter of getting the nack for putting it away, and pushing it into position when you fold it up. I think the safety features of this are well worth it.

I can't think of anything I would change really.

Verdict: Should I buy the Vileda Total Reflect Ironing Board?

I don't know of any other brand that uses this sort of technique, so yes I recommend the Vileda Total Reflect Ironing Board.

Anything that cuts down on ironing time is a win in my eyes!

In fact, I've already told my mother-in-law about it as she always has a pile of ironing on the go!
