Insomnia

One of the latest additions (coming soon) to Paramount Plus is Insomnia, starring much-loved actress Vicky McClure. It's based on the bestselling book of the same name from Sarah Pinborough.

Vicky plays Emma Averill, a career-driven woman who seems to have the perfect life she's worked hard for until she begins to fear that she's losing her mind.

The official synopsis reads: "A couple of weeks before her 40th birthday, Emma stops sleeping - just as her mother had done right before she suffered a violent psychotic breakdown on the night of her own 40th birthday. Emma’s mother always told her she’d go the same way, that she had the same 'bad blood', and now Emma’s terrified it’s true.

"As events worsen, Emma’s world starts to unravel, and she realises that only by investigating the truth of her painful past can she find the answers to her present and prevent tragedy from striking a second time."

The Serial Killer's Wife

"Beth and Tom Fairchild seem to have it all. However, when a string of murders is traced back to Tom, Beth is forced to ask herself whether she has ignored signs of her husband’s violence all along."

This psychological thriller is based on the book of the same name by Alice Hunter and features a cast full of British television stars including Annabel Scholey (The Split), Jack Farthing (Poldark), Angela Griffin (Waterloo Road), Morgana Robinson (The Morgana Show), Julie Graham (The Bletchley Circle), Shobna Gulati (Coronation Street) and Hari Dillon (Holby City).

Fellow Travellers

Bridgerton's Jonathan Bailey and Matt Bomer (Magic Mike) star in this political thriller and historical romance.

The show is a 'decades-long chronicle of the risky, volatile and steamy relationship between the charismatic and ambitious Hawk and the pious and idealistic Tim, two political staffers who fall in love at the height of the 1950s Lavender Scare.'

The Ex-Wife

"Tasha is living the dream: she has the perfect house, a loving husband and a beautiful little girl. But there’s one large blot on Tasha’s marital landscape: her husband’s ex-wife won’t leave them alone and seems intent on staying in the picture."

Lies, deceit and game-playing is afoot in The Ex Wife (a drama adapted from a popular thriller by author Jess Ryder).

George & Tammy

If you're a fan of musical biopics, you'll probably like George & Tammy, a limited series starring Jessica Chastain and Michael Shannon, which 'chronicles country music's king and queen, George Jones and Tammy Wynette, rocky relationship that inspired some of the most iconic country music of all time'.
