If, like me, you’ve been completely gripped by Netflix’s Legends, the new crime drama following Customs officers who went undercover to take down two of the biggest drug gangs in UK history, then you’ll already know it doesn’t just deliver on tension. It also boasts an absolutely killer soundtrack.
Set in the 1990s, the series is steeped in the sounds of the decade, with director Bradley Hood carefully curating tracks that capture both the energy and the edge of the era. From euphoric club anthems to brooding indie classics, the music perfectly mirrors the mood of the show.

Bradley has spoken about being deliberate in how the decade was portrayed on screen. Rather than leaning into soft-focus nostalgia, he wanted to reflect the vibrancy of the time, explaining:
“I didn’t want to look back at the ’90s through a sepia lens. From what I recall of the ’90s, it was vibrant and exciting; tracksuits and pills and dance music. I wanted to capture that exuberant nature…”
Music wasn’t just important for viewers at home, either. It also played a key role behind the scenes for the Legends cast. To help the actors get into the mindset of their dual identities, Bradley used songs as a character-building tool.
“One other little thing I did early on was ask all the actors to send me a couple of songs each: one they’d listen to at home, which was more of a guilty pleasure, then one that they’d play in front of a crowd, in their legend. It was a nice way to see where they were coming from.”
So, what songs made the final cut? Here’s every track featured in the Netflix series.
