Off-screen, Eve Myles is married Bradley Freegard, a fellow Welsh actor. Fun fact: he plays her husband Evan in Keeping Faith, and you might also recognise him as King Canute in Vikings: Valhalla. The two met back in 1994 at the National Youth Theatre and tied the knot in a tiny, secret ceremony in Tuscany in 2013 - their three-year-old daughter Matilda was the only guest!
"I'd put my wedding off three times because of work commitments", she told WalesOnline. "This time I said we're not putting it off this time, we're getting married this year."
"It was in the most beautiful villa, we sat on a big wedding table, with crystal chandeliers above us and we had our own waiter. Matilda was just happily running around. It was an amazing day," she said.
"And the day after we just visited Florence and Siena eating pizza and drinking cold beer. Italy is an amazing country."
The couple now have three children, Matilda, Siena and McKenzie, who they welcomed in 2021.

Eve Myles grew up in Ystradgynlais, Wales, raised by her single mother, Jennifer, who worked two jobs - one cleaning in the mornings and a shop job in the afternoons - to support Eve and her elder brother. Her parents split up when she was just three, but her Scottish father lived nearby in Swansea.
As a child, Eve didn’t see her dad much because he struggled with alcoholism and spent time in recovery. He became sober for over 20 years before his death, and the pair shared a close relationship. Eve has often described him as a “great dad,” recalling his advice: “Flowers don’t grow in the dark — voice your concerns.”
In 2025, Eve spoke candidly about the loss of both her parents in close succession, describing it as a “tsunami” of grief. Amid that heartbreak, the birth of her youngest daughter brought comfort and joy, giving her a renewed sense of purpose.

Can Eve Myles speak Welsh?
She can now! Even though Eve didn’t speak Welsh before, she learned it from scratch to play Faith Howells in Un Bore Mercher (Keeping Faith).
She picked it up in just four months - no small feat!
"I started with the scripts and had to learn the Welsh alphabet. I didn't even know there was a different alphabet!
"I would drop the kids off a nursery at 9AM, pick them up at 3PM and in between I would just sit at the table and just do it, word for word, sound for sound."
While she’s not fully fluent, she can hold a conversation in Welsh and even uses it with her children. Eve has called it a tough but incredibly rewarding challenge, and one of the most special experiences of her career.
