If you thought the first season of Channel 5's Ellis was gripping, the arrival of season two feels a bit like catching up with an old friend, one who just happens to be tangled up in some very messy crimes. There’s a real buzz around the show’s return, and for good reason. Ellis managed to stand out in a sea of crime dramas by mixing sharp storytelling with characters who actually feel human.

This new season promises bigger cases, higher stakes, and even more of the moral grey areas that made the first run so addictive. But beyond the twists and turns, what keeps pulling viewers back is the show’s willingness to dig into the personal side of policing - the pressures, the compromises, and the emotional fallout. With a 7.5 star rating for season one, season two is sure to kick off.

One fan even praisingly says, "I have seen every murder mystery I can get my hands on and I know the formula, and Ellis refreshingly does not follow a formula" with "new and intriguing plots." If this isn't enough to get you excited, I don't know what is!
