We have loved watching the celebrities taking part in the Stand up to Cancer Bake off specials, and whilst it's understood the celebrities donated all of their fees to charity, reports claim the same cannot be said for the judges and presenters.

It is alleged by the Sun newspaper that Paul Hollywood, Prue Leith, Sandi Toksvig and Noel Fielding were all paid hefty fees for taking part in the show. Although Channel 4 have released a statement claiming the presenters donate a significant amount to charity, they refused to say how much this was.

Catchphrase charity special

Catchphrase

We really enjoyed the Catchphrase charity special shows that were recently aired on ITV. Presented by Stephen Mulhern, famous faces were put to the test to say what you see in order to win money for their chosen charity.

However, we were so shocked to hear that some of the celebrities are thought to have been paid for their appearance on the show. Celebrities including Jonathan Ross, Catherine Tyldesley and Jimmy Carr are said to have received a total of £5,000 for taking part!

Other celebrities who are thought to have received a four-figure payment include Linda Robson, Fay Ripley and Ellie Simmonds. According to reports, Jonathan Ross has apparently donated his £5000 fee to charity, but it is uncertain that any of the other celebrities have also donated their payment.

Catchphrase-Celebrities

This shocking news will come as a surprise to most viewers who probably wouldn’t expect celebrities to be paid for charity work but a source has announced the show is seen more as an entertainment show rather than for charity.

ITV have refused to comment on the matter, stating “we never discuss artist contracts.”
