Looking for a new drama that will get under your skin? The Girl Who Died is on the way to our screens. Starring Marcella actress Anna Friel, the creepy Nordic thriller is based on the book by the prolific author Ragnar Jónasson, whose Dimma novel series was brought to life in 2024's The Darkness.

What is The Girl Who Died about?

In the secluded Icelandic village of Skálar, Una, a weary teacher from Reykjavik, takes on a challenging assignment to educate two local girls. However, she soon discovers that only one student shows up for lessons.

As she navigates her isolation and the chilly welcome from the villagers, Una is plagued by unsettling dreams and mysterious melodies that echo through the night. With growing tension and unforeseen tragedies, she starts to unravel the unsettling truths hidden within the village, secrets that its inhabitants seem determined to keep buried.
