What is the new series of All Creatures Great and Small about?

Season 6 of All Creatures Great and Small picks up in 1945, just as World War II is coming to a close and will feature more "heartwarming human and animal tales" from Skeldale.

"We arrive back in Darrowby to veterinary advancements, expanded families, and new faces as they all look ahead to a brighter and more peaceful future", teases the synopsis.

"This season will see Herriot’s wonderful characters navigating the opportunities that a new world brings, a host of animals great and small, and of course, each other."

It's clear that life at Darrowby is different from what it was before; "The world has changed. We need to change with it", says James Herriot (Nicholas Ralph), but, as always, there are still animals to look after.

The trailer features pets, rolling hills, reunions and a lot of hugs.
