Pelvic floor exercises aren't simple to do but if you're looking for an alternative in a decent pelvic floor trainer, the kit can be very pricey. That's why we were so happy to hear that pelvic floor trainers will soon be available on the NHS in the form of Elvie Trainer.
A while ago, we reviewed Elvie Trainer for our The best pelvic floor trainers: reviewed article and we were very impressed. Now Elvie Trainer is set to be available to those suffering with Stress Urinary Incontinence or SUI.
Elvie Trainer is the smallest pelvic-floor trainer available. It connects to an app on your smartphone to take you through a series of six unique pelvic-floor exercises and even tells you how well you’re doing.
The gadget itself is a small egg-shaped trainer that is cleverly programmed with biofeedback technology that works to detect pelvic-floor muscle movements. Once inserted, the device connects to an app on your phone via a bluetooth connection. The app guides users through a number of simple exercises designed to tighten the pelvic floor muscles and improve SUI.
If you’re confident using your smartphone, Elvie Trainer is the perfect trainer for you. Once you’ve downloaded the app, the discreet pelvic-floor trainer connects to your phone via Bluetooth. A gemstone icon appears on the screen and as you squeeze your muscles the icon moves up and down. You’re prompted to use your pelvic floor to move the icon through six different workouts. The app reminds you to ‘workout’ for five minutes three times a week for results to show.
