The British actress is best known for her role in Call the Midwife, but has also been nominated for an Olivier Award for her theatre work. She’s from Portsmouth originally and studied at the famous Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA).

Bryony Hannah to star in Foxfinder

It has been revealed that Bryony Hannah will be starring in the West End play Foxfinder next month. The Call the Midwife star will be appearing alongside actor Paul Nicholls who you may remember from Eastenders and Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason.

The award-winning play is described as being a darkly comic drama. It first premiered at the Finborough Theatre in 2011 and went on to win the Royal National Theatre Foundation award and the Papatango new writing award.

Fans of Bryony who won't want to miss watching her in this West End play can see it at the Ambassadors Theatre from September 6th 2018 to January 5th 2019.

Bryony is best loved for her role as the kindly Nurse Cynthia Miller in Call the Midwife. During the course of the six series she appeared in, Cynthia found her calling, and became a nun. She won’t be returning for series 7.

In 2012 she starred in the play The Children’s Hour, in London. She played Mary Tilford and was nominated for the Olivier Award for Best Actress in a Supporting Role.

What else has Bryony Hannah appeared in?

She starred as Christine in the sit-com Dead Boss, alongside Jennifer Saunders and Sharon Horgan, in 2012. She also provided the voice of Padget in the CBeebies series Bing, and appeared in other TV shows including Above Suspicion: Silent Scream, Life’s Too Short, Unforgotten and Reversals. She again played a nurse – Nurse Schultz – in the 2015 film Jupiter Ascending.

She’s had an active career in the theatre too, appearing in various productions including War Horse and Earthquakes in London.
