Dobbies offers free gardening club for children

Do you know a budding Alan Titchmarsh or Carol Klein? Why not hone their green-fingered skills at Dobbies Garden Centres’ Little Seedlings Club. It’s a free monthly gardening workshop where children aged four to 10 can learn about plants, wildlife and the environment.

The club meets on the first Sunday of every month in every Dobbies Garden Centre and the first one starts this Sunday, 1st March. Start times vary, so check with your nearest centre - you can find yours here.

Upcoming clubs include:

  • Sunday 1st March - The First Signs of Spring

By March, the sunshine is starting to peek through from the clouds - we hope! - and lots of flowers, plants and wildlife start to appear to say hello. In this workshop children will be learning about some of the first flowers that grow in and around our gardens during Spring.

  • Sunday 12th April - Get Bready!

Do you sometimes like to eat bread for lunch? What about a potato, or rice? Do you have a favourite? All of these foods come from plants and they are very important for people all over the world. Come along to find out about how and where these staple foods are grown. Children can then have a go at planting some of their own to take home.
