FAQs

How should you serve Prosecco?

Prosecco is always best served chilled, but not cold, with the ideal temperature being between 6-8°C. Tulip glasses are actually best to serve prosecco in, not champagne glasses, because their shape stops the bubbles from escaping too quickly, while the rim collects the wine’s floral aromas.

What to look for in a good Prosecco

It all comes down to personal preference and whether you prefer a sweet or dry wine. You can get off-dry, dry, extra dry, brut and extra brut, with ‘off-dry’ being the sweetest and ‘extra brut’ being the driest. You may also notice the letters ‘DOC’ (designation of controlled origin) and ‘DOCG’ (designation of controlled origin guaranteed) on your prosecco bottle. DOCG wines have a guarantee by the Italian Government to be of a higher quality, which is why these Supermarket wines are more expensive. However, a higher price tag doesn’t always mean better taste.

What foods should you pair Prosecco with?

Luckily, prosecco is very versatile when it comes to food and works alongside many dishes. We recommend pairing sweeter prosecco (off-dry and dry) with desserts and afternoon tea, whereas drier prosecco (brut) goes well with saltier dishes, such as fish and antipasti.
