Actress Sheridan Smith has been very busy working hard on her new TV drama. Her new series, Cleaning Up, is set to run for three series and will see her playing Sam, a struggling mum-of-two who uses her job as a cleaner to start insider trading to try and help her family.
According to reports, it’s anticipated that the programme will be popular as bosses have reportedly told cast and crew to clear their schedules for two more series after the debut run.
A source told The Sun's TV Bizarre column: “Bosses think the ideal scenario is for three series, so people are keeping their diaries open.”
The busy actress also starred alongside Alison Steadman and Sinead Keenan last night in new BBC One drama Care which was brilliant.
In the show, Sheridan played Jenny, a mother-of-two raising her girls alone after the departure of her husband Dave. She grows to rely on Mary (Steadman), Jenny’s widowed mother, whose help with childcare allows Jenny to hold down her full-time job at the supermarket but when Mary suffers a devastating stroke and develops dementia, Jenny’s world comes crashing down and everything changes for her and her sister Claire (Keenan) as they must decide how best to care for their ailing mother.
