The original Great British Bake Off presenters: Mel, Sue and Mary Berry (minus Paul Hollywood) are teaming up for a special Christmas TV programme.
The new show, called Surprise Party, will be a one-off and air as part of the BBC’s Christmas schedule. It will involve the three stars travelling to a community centre in South Wales to bring festive cheer.
The centre holds special importance to the community after the closure of a school and post office, and provides a hub for both local children and pensioners. The trio are set to throw the ‘most magnificent Christmas party the town has ever seen.’
It will be the first time Sue, Mel and Mary have worked together since the Bake Off moved from the BBC to Channel 4.
“What a lovely chance for BBC1 to help bring a community together and give something back to some incredible volunteers this Christmas, especially when the surprise party is organised by Mary, Mel and Sue,” says Charlotte Moore, Director of BBC content.
- The programme will air on BBC1 on Christmas Eve at 7pm
