Brave volunteer George Russell will be taking part in the Cats Protection charity abseil next month.

On March 8, he plans to descend the 160ft sea walls of the Avon Gorge, raising money for one of his favourite charities in the meantime. He and his wife Rose are keen volunteers for Cats Protection, and in the last twenty years they have fostered, adopted, and cared for all manner of felines in need of help.

Now it's time for George to take on an adventure! He says, "I've never abseiled before, and it sounded like a challenge. I know some of my colleagues will be facing a real fear of heights on the day, but I'm not scared as I'll be in safe hands."

'I'm really looking forward to it and hope to raise as much as possible'
