The return of Dancing On Ice last Sunday received mixed reviews, especially when it came to the shows new commentator, Matt Chapman. The horse-racing commentator seemed to be unpopular amongst viewers, who shared their negative views of him on social media.
It appears a lot of our Yours readers weren’t very impressed either.
“We will record it in future, just want to see the skating don't need the rest and the new guy talking was terrible.”
“Didn't like the new compare so over the top and grating, the rest of programme just OK, but give it time.”
“Too much talking and what on earth is a Racing guy doing the commentary on Dancing on Ice for, Holly and Phil hardly spoke!! Not keen on all the chatter, just want to see the skating and the introductions and feedback”
“Wasn't impressed with the announcer his voice grates on you and it went on far too long. Will record in future and just watch skating and scores then results. Am so disappointed. Could be better. 😞”
“Pathetic. Get rid of the commentator he is no good at the racing either.”
Now, it appears ITV have listened as he has now been axed from the show. According to Matt, the decision to leave was purely his due to a scheduling clash with his racing commentary commitments.
ITV are now desperately on the hunt for a replacement voice over for Sunday’s show, we can’t wait to see who the replacement will be.
