Did you know that Cosyfeet - the company who make super-comfy shoes for wider feet - run an annual Community Award, giving £500 to the winning entry each year? If you're part of a registered charity or not-for-profit organisation that's dedicated to older people, then you're eligible to enter.
To give you an idea of the sort of cause the judges are looking for, last year's winners were a knitting group. The 'Priory Knit Wits' used their award money to buy more wool for their charity craft projects.
"We are interested in projects that provide practical and emotional help, keep older people active or give them a chance to meet up with others," says Cosyfeet MD, Andrew Pierce. "It might be a friendship group, a telephone befriending service, exercise class… anything that helps older people feel less isolated and part of their community."
To enter, apply at: www.cosyfeet.com/communityaward or call 01458 447275 for an application form. Entries must be received by August 3, 2015. The winning organisation will be announced in September.
