Clear your cupboards for charity

Clear out your clutter and help a good cause at the same time, by helping the British Heart Foundation this month.

The charity's Bag It. Beat It. donation appeal has already 'bagged' the support of the ever-glamorous Arlene Philips.
The former Strictly Come Dancing judge will be filling up bags and donating them to her local BHF shop, and is asking the public to follow suit and donate bags full of their unwanted stuff to Bag It. Beat It.
Figures released by the BHF suggest we're all long overdue a clear out, with the average person holding on to at least three items of clothing that have never been worn and six items that no longer fit - we're certainly guilty of this!
“It was really therapeutic clearing out my wardrobe and finding items to donate to Bag It. Beat It," says Arlene. "Every week around 2,000 families lose a loved one to heart disease, but with continued support from the public, the BHF can fight harder to reduce this figure. I’d encourage everyone to get involved this September and turn their unwanted stuff into life saving heart research.”
Everyone can get involved by simply filling a bag with good quality clothes, shoes, books, handbags, DVDs, CDs, bric-a-brac and children’s toys and taking it into their local BHF shop.
