The golden couple of Strictly are at it again. After a brief time apart during which Erin had her first baby boy, dance's most dynamic duo are now back together on tour presenting a brand new show, That's Entertainment, where they serve up more razzle dazzle than ever before.
It's a show that's got old-time variety running through it like a stick of Blackpool rock. There's the swinging orchestra for starters, who switch seamlessly from an Andre Rieu style waltz to cracking out big Hollywood numbers like 'It Don't Mean A Thing (If It Ain't Got That Swing)' and 'Stepping Out'. They're accompanied by the dulcet jazz tones of singer Lance Ellington who schmoozes the audience with his Frank Sinatra twang.
There's even singing from Anton and Erin themselves who give us all of our favourite tunes from stage and screen (beautifully sung I must say, too), including 'The Trolley Song', 'Make 'em Laugh' and 'We're a Couple of Swells'.
And then, of course, there's the dancing, delivered with the assured ease and charming chutzpah we've come to expect from these former professional champs, along with their four talented backing dancers.
There's certainly no danger of getting bored (or the dancers catching their breath for that matter) as they whizz from music box style Waltzes, to fast-paced Foxtrots, from terrific Tangos to show-stopping, jazz hand wielding musical hits. If you're used to seeing the couple suited and booted in their Fred and Ginger guise, there's a bit of that but also much, much more.
It feels really like a mini-version of Strictly, just where Anton and Erin have hijacked everybody else's jobs, including the singers and Tess and Claudia. And they take over the chat of the show brilliantly as they divulge Strictly secrets, answer questions from the audience and altogether deliver a laugh-a-minute cheekiness.
Let's just say that Anton in particular is as footloose and fancy-free with his tongue as he is with his nifty footwork (I imagine certain former Strictly celebs are likely to have burning ears throughout the show) but that's what makes the show all the more exciting, endearing and a real showstopper of a night out.
