A new survey has found that more of us take our pampered pooches on holiday with us than ever before - and labradors are the luckiest breed, representing 37 per cent of the top five breeds treated to a cottage break.

Cocker Spaniels and Jack Russells are the next most travelled, making up 22.1 per cent and 18.5 per cent respectively, according to

The top five breeds of dog staying in properties last year were:
1.    Labrador
2.    Cocker Spaniel
3.    Jack Russell
4.    Border Collie
5.    Springer Spaniel

Other pets which have enjoyed a cottage break in England, Wales or Scotland with the company include cats, rabbits, guinea pigs, ferrets and even a pair of prized show rats!
