What they say it does:

Research supports FMT Technology’s success in reducing over-pronation, which can help relieve associated common aches and pains, such as heel pain (plantar fasciitis), knee pain and lower back pain

What our reviewer said:
I can't usually wear conventional flip flops because of the lack of support (tell a lie, I can, but then can't walk for the rest of the day), and since my diagnosis (plantaar faciitis and fallen arches) I've wear a trusty pair of wooden clogs as my indoor shoes and I have special insoles for walking shoes, but I've been struggling to find pretty summer sandals with any kind of support.

I wore the Vionics initially for short periods at a time, and to be honest, didn't really feel they made a difference from normal flip flops. But then I had them on around the house in the morning and they were so comfortable I forgot I was wearing them. So now having accidentally wandered around in them outside all day and not been in crippling pain at the end of it, it made me realise what support they actually do provide. With the arch supported and deep heel cups, the soft footbed is designed in a way to realign your foot to its natural position. The sole is also shaped and has grips while the straps give plenty of room to accommodate my high instep.

I've now worn them a few times for longer periods and would happily recommend giving them a try.
Vionics range include shoes for men and women and was pleasantly surprised to find they are not the 'old fashioned' style you usually associate with supportive footwear.
