Our reviewer thought…
My grandchildren love stories and at the ages of seven and four have a thirst for knowledge. My eldest granddaughter is starting to cover important people in history at school and I’m always keen to teach her about strong women role models. The inspiring books in the Little People Big Dreams series do exactly that. The stories cover some of the most important women in history and manage to tell each story in an informative, but also accessible way. The series of eight books feature inspirational women including Marie Curie, Emmeline Pankhurst, Amelia Earhart, Maya Angelou, Frida Kahlo, Audrey Hepburn, Coco Chanel and Rosa Parks.
We have the book featuring Amelia Earhart and they love it! The book itself is beautifully illustrated and the story is detailed enough to interest my eldest, but still gentle enough that the youngest enjoys it too. In fact, my youngest granddaughter (who’s an explorer in the making), loves to hear about Amelia’s flight over oceans and jungles. The end of the story where Amelia doesn’t return from her final flight is handled sensitively and the final pages include a more factual account of her life and include photographs.
I honestly cannot rate these books highly enough. Perfect for the children in your life who are ready to change the world.
