What our tester thought:

I wanted to move more and spend less of my day sitting on my bottom. I’d heard good things about fitness trackers motivating friends to exercise more, so I decided to take a look. I didn’t want to spend a fortune so the Jawbone Up Move was the perfect price and a great place to start.
You can wear the Up Move attached to your clothes or around your wrist. It counts your steps and tracks your sleep, working out roughly how many calories you’ve burned in a day. It was easy to set up and downloading the app onto my smart phone was simple too. It doesn’t have a display but if you press the face lights show you how close you are to meeting your target steps, and if you double tap it will show you the time.
You can set your own step and sleep goals so I started out aiming for 7000 steps a day and trying to get at least 7 hours sleep. The app lets you log workouts too so I add in my weekly yoga class.
The app is award winning and it acts like a virtual personal trainer, giving you advice and encouragement on how to improve your sleep or up your step count. You can opt into mini challenges to walk extra steps on certain days and it will suggest what time you should go to bed to get a good night sleep and meet your sleep target. If you like a competition you can enter into a duel with a friend who also has an Up Move, which can be very motivating.
If you want to you can log what you eat and drink in the apps food diary and it will work out the calories for you. It has a large bank of food already entered to make this nice and easy.
When I bought the Up Move I thought I might be tempted to switch up to a more sophisticated fitness tracker but I don’t think I need to. It does everything I need and more and it definitely motivates me to get off the sofa and meet my challenges. I’d definitely recommend it.
