Eyebrow Threading

A procedure said to originate from the Middle East and South Asia. It is meant to be a precise, fast and clean method of hair removal. The procedure only effects the hair and not the skin underneath and is able to remove even fine hairs!

After reading up on the procedure and not really being a fan of waxing my brows or plucking them, I jumped at the chance to try it!

I popped along to a professional beauty and brows salon called BBs in the Queensgate Shopping Centre, Peterborough to have it done.  A friendly beautician sat me down and set about making sure my brows and hands too were clean before she started (a good salon will insist on using an anti-bacterial solution on your hands too, should they ask you to hold your eyes for any reason whilst they thread away). I chose the brow shape I liked and then it took about 15 minutes to have he threading done.

After the procedure the beautician wiped my eyes with a soothing and hygienic lotion to help with any slight tingling and redness after. My hairs are medium in thickness and whilst I would like to tell you this procedure is painless, I have to confess it was a little painful in places but the results are certainly worth it, as I was left with an attractive and indeed, precise shape!

Based on the compliments from friends and family, I would certainly recommend this procedure and would like to stress that if you are going to try it out, please make sure you go to a reputable beautician/threader.

To complete my ‘new improved’ brow look, I used a product by Benefit Cosmetics called Gimmie Brow. It’s a fab product that helps shape brows and enhance colour. A little pricey at £18.50 rrp but a little goes a long way, so it will last months! Please be aware that it is not recommended you put any products on your eyebrows straight after threading. Allow at least two hours after threading to apply any creams or makeup, so as to allow time for your pores to close.
