What they say:
Watch more than 200,000 movies and TV episodes from Prime Video, BBC, Netflix, YouTube, Curzon, ITV, UKTV Play and more. On Fire TV, it’s never been easier to access thousands of 4K Ultra HD movies and TV episodes. Plus, stream millions of songs through Amazon Music, Spotify and TuneIn.
Your Alexa Voice Remote can easily find, launch and control content. Simply press the microphone button and say ’Find romantic comedies’ and Alexa will display the results.

This is the easiest home device I’ve ever set up. When they say ‘simply plug and play’ it’s true! I already have an Amazon Prime and Netflix account and the most complex part of the set-up process was remembering my passwords.
The small black diamond-shaped device simply plugs into a HDMI socket on your TV. The on-screen instructions then take you step-by-step through the set-up process and you’re away - with thousands of hours of new programmes, films and catch-up TV at your fingertips.
To take full advantage of more than 200,000 movies and TV episodes on offer you would need to subscribe to services such as Netflix or Amazon Prime but the Fire TV Stick does offer free access to BBC iPlayer, The ITV Hub, UKTV Play, All4 and YouTube.
The picture quality is excellent and the playback is consistently smooth without any buffering or glitching.
The Alexa voice control is easy and fun to use and surprisingly good at interpreting what you’ve said (unlike some other voice control devices that I’ve tried preciously). But to be honest the search facility using the remote control is fast and simple enough to scroll through that I found myself not using Alexa so much once the novelty wore off.
Overall this is a great piece of technology that is simple to use and opens up a whole world of entertainment at your fingertips.
