Marks and Spencer is launching a new loyalty card which will reward shoppers with tailored offers, priority access to online sales and invites to exclusive events. In a break with other loyalty schemes, the Sparks membership card rewards customers not just for how much they spend in M&S stores and online, but for product reviews and recycling M&S clothing at Oxfam.
Members can collect 'sparks' in three ways:
- Every time you shop - 10 sparks for every purchase
- Every time you spend - 10 sparks for every £1 spent
- Each time you engage with M&S - 25 sparks for a product review on the company’s website or 50 sparks when you Shwop (recycle M&S clothes at Oxfam).
Members can take advantage of priority access to new season ranges once they have collected 3,000 sparks or get earlier access to online sales on racking up 5,000 sparks. While 14,000 sparks unlocks invitations to masterclasses and 17,000 sparks allows you to enter special prize draws.
When you join, you receive a welcome offer – this could include a 10 per cent discount on a department or a free beauty product when you buy lingerie. A tailor-made selection of offers is then sent every fortnight to choose from and, as members build more sparks they can unlock up to four tailor-made offer slots at one time. And every time a customer shops M&S will donate a penny to the member’s chosen charity, selected at registration.
Sparks launches on October 22nd, but interested customers can collect a Sparks card from their local M&S store from today.
