Lidl has become the world’s first retailer to sell a 24-month matured Christmas pudding, available in stores from today (October 19).
The discounter's Deluxe 24 Month Matured Christmas Pudding is priced at £11.99 and promises the ultimate taste experience as the specially-sourced premium ingredients have been left to infuse over the past TWO years, longer than any other Christmas pudding available this festive period.
The pud is packed with plump Turkish raisins and sultanas, juicy Greek Vostizza currants, Chilean flame raisins and glacé cherries.
This concoction of fruit, together with whole almonds, pecans and walnuts, has been infused with Amontillado Sherry from Montilla in Spain, French brandy and Guyanese Caribbean Rum.  Once steam cooked and slowly cooled, Courvoisier® VS Cognac has then been added to the pudding making it a truly luxurious yet traditional way to enjoy Christmas Day.

Produced by one of the world’s oldest Christmas pudding makers, this festive centrepiece is available across all stores in Scotland, England and Wales, while stocks last.
